PPS: January Video Tutorial

Donna here again to share another project I created with a simple video tutorial."Today and everyday" corkboard project is still in connection with this month's challenge theme: Resolutions.

I've been meaning to create a memory board or something similar since last year and I wanted to use a big corkboard to pin small snips of papers for CT deadlines, schedules, ideas and other crafty-related stuff.

Although I just got to purchase a bit smaller corkboard than what I had in mind, I still saved it for this particular project. I kept it really simple so my pins won't be overwhelmed by the decorations etc.

Hope you like it and thanks in advance for watching! :)

January Challenge: Resolutions

Hello 2013

Hello PPS dearies ...... :)

....

I know 2013 will be amazing, even better than 2012 .... Oh yes, I believe that will all my heart .... :))))))

.....

I have a long to do list for 2013, including losing 10 kilos .... well, there's this funny joke I read somewhere over the net, we may as well used our last year resolution and change the year .... hehehe ... the long list goes on, and almost none got achieved .... :P

But there are two things that I promise myself I will do, and the first one is as the layout below,

to try harder.

God knows I have commitment higher than my height and heavier than my body ... *sigh*, I've been struggling for years, I can say that my life is constant struggling, but again, as Oprah said 'you get in life what you have the courage to ask for' ... I certainly asked and prayed for all these, so I have to struggle to keep up to what I have asked for.

So yes, trying harder ....as hard as I can ....

As you may have noticed, the above is Studio Calico Yearbook line. I like the color theme. The vintage feelings. So Studio Calico.

The second promise that I made to myself is the below

To pause and to enjoy. Because the more I see the little things the more I grateful of what I have.

What you guys think, my resolutions is simple enough right ???? How about yours ???

Cheers

Riri

Celebrate Everyday: Project Life 2013 Title Page

Hi all,

As you guys may aware, I do Project Life. This year, 2013, will be the third year I am doing it. The best project ever. The real scrapbook!! I don't post so much about it in my blog as I found taking photos of the things inside its page protector is so difficult. The plastic cover bounce light back and I can't somehow find the right angle.

Anyway, this is my 2012 entry page. Using OA Sidewalks of course, hehehe. For 2013, I aim for something a little bit different. Project Life is a project that sort of evolve following your current lifestyle. This year I wanna make it a lot simpler. It's gonna be a week or two per spread. No need to capture everyday, just enough of the highlighted event of that week/s. If I don't have enough post for that week to fill a spread then I just make the photo bigger. Remember this tutorial ? It could save you of having to include lots of different photos for that week.

So it will be simpler this year, but deeper. Looking back the previous years album, what I love so much besides the photos is the journalling. Sometimes a photo is just a photo without a story behind it. That's it. Simpler but deeper.

Inspired by several post on the net, including the famous Holstee Manifesto I include a 6x12 entry page. This is still related to my post about 2013 Resolution. Try Harder and Pause. :) I simply did it using Microsoft Word. Too lazy to battle with my Photoshop :(( .

And this is the real entry page. Using Echo Paper Everyday Eclectic. Allison Kreft is awesome, isn't she ?? Two Ali Edwards digital files that I have converted to cut files. And made my own cut files 2013. The color is sooooo subtle. But soooo difficult to catch it in photo. Those journalling paper from this line is awesome. I love the real photograph background.

Ok, then I have done my first and second week page which I put together.

Still using the same paper and same subtle color scheme. Used washi tape, MME brads, free download cards from Elise Blaha Cripe web. Random thickers and label. Heidi Swapp words. The beauty of Project Life is you can use any leftover embellishment and paper. No waste.

That's it. Simpler but deeper. FYI, there are few App that are useful to keep Project Life journalling, Memento and other. My favourite is not an app. But sort of a blog. The name is Oh Life.  It send you an email everyday, asking about how your day go?. All you have to do is to reply it. Someday I just wrote 'bad day' someday I didn't reply at all, but someday I really tell a story. It's lovely, go and have a look.

Wanna join me in this project ??? We'll have fun, I promise. :)

Cheers
Riri

January Challenge: Resolutions

Hi all, Donna here to share with you my layout for this month's theme, Resolutions.

I didn't specify things on my list. While trying to write down stuff, my resolutions, lots of things came to mind. So I kind of summarized things. And since I know in my mind which these things are, I will just cross it off in my mental list once I achieved it already within this year :D And no I don't think that's cheating, lol! :D

Anyways, here is my layout and some detailed shots.

I used gesso to tone down the color of the orange patterned paper as you can see in the image below. Then I used the leftovers of the punched borders, flipped some to show through the other side.

I used the arrows in the patterned papers to highlight my page's title, "I resolve". I used die cut shapes for serve as journaling spots.

Created the flower by cutting it free hand, did the same with the leaves too and just creased it in the middle to have the "leaf look".

This part is one of my fave in this layout. I just cut up some strips of this colorful patterned paper, adhered on the two circle die cut shapes. Used foam tape for dimension.

Hope you like my page! Thanks for dropping by!

January Challenge: Resolutions

Happy 2013 people!!

Wish you all a very Happy and a Prosperous New Year!

So, how did you all celebrate the new year?

I, as every other year, kick started 2013 by jotting down a list of new year resolutions with a hope to stick by them till the end of the year. Now, I realized writing down these resolutions in my diary NEVER helps. So this year I decided to get my creative brain into action and come up with a better idea to help me execute it.

I wanted the list in front of my eyes everyday so I am constantly reminded of them... and the best place obviously was the fridge in my kitchen!

I used the Maya Road Mini Rectangular Chipboard Accordion for the base and stuck a magnet behind it. The pattern papers used in this project was entirely from Authentique's - Journey 6x6 paper pad.

The letters 'TODAY' is a chipboard sticker from the October Afternoon 9 to 5 collection. The chip n stick set was just perfect for this project.

I also used a little mesh under the doily.. not sure if you can see it clearly in the photograph.

Cool eh?! I propose all you guys to try this out.. I dunno if it would really help a lot but it sure does make you feel all proud seeing this pretty thing adorn your fridge. *wink*

With love,
Shruti
