DT Reveal - Ria Montefalcon

Hello everyone!

I'm so thrilled to be part of Pretty Paper Studio Design Team! I’m Ria Montefalcon, a mom to KC and aunt to Abiel and Aidan. Philippines is my home country but I currently live in a small city yet my home for a couple of years now, Doha, Qatar. I’m a marketing professional by day and a happy crafter by night. I have loved arts and craft ever since I was a little girl, from a handmade card for grandma, stamping with coloring, to even sewing dresses for my little dolls.
I find my style clean and simple. Love to play with patterned papers, stamps and do try techniques I haven’t done before. I also love sewing so you will see some of my sewn crafts and needle works at my blog. So happy to share my works with you all.

To see more of my creations, you can visit me at www.heartforhandmade.com

Thank you.
Ria

DT Reveal - Ime Oranga

My name is Ime, a scrapper from the Philippines. A wife and a mother to two adorable kids. I've been scrapping for eight years now and I'm loving every minute of it. Scrapbooking is a stress reliever for me.

My style is shabby chic. I love to mix different mediums and try to new techniques to create layouts. I also enjoy altering stuffs.

I'm privileged to be a DT for Filipino Scrapbookers and Kaboodle Doodles. I'm also an educator for Lasting impression and Yellow Violet House.

You can see some of my work at http://imeoranga.blogspot.com/.

DT Reveal - Po Prostu Asia

Hello! I'm so excited to join Pretty Paper Studio Design Team!

My name is Asia, but in the scrap world I use my nickname Po prostu Asia. I’m 17 years old and I attend secondary school. I live in lovely country - Poland, Europe.

I discovered scrapbooking in 2011 and my love to paper lasted to this day. Now I’m addicted to scrapbooking! I tried various styles over these two years but I have to admit that the colorful and a little messy one I like best - but it doesn't mean that I'm not looking for some new styles! On the contrary - I'm still learning and trying new techniques.

I have a lot of fun with every form of scrapbooking – I love albums, cards, notebooks, but my biggest love are layouts! I just love keeping on them bigger and smaller moments from my life.

You may find me at www.poprostuasia.blogspot.com or on FB under Po prostu Asia.

Best wishes ♥
Asia

October Challenge: Anything Goes Continued

Hi folks! It's been a long time since I posted a project in the blog. There had been several personal stuff that happened to me that I had to attend to. Very grateful to Neelu for always being such a considerate boss ;)

Now on to my project to share with you today!

I admit, I have tons of boxes saved to be altered in the future. And a few days ago, I worked on one of my "treasured" boxes ;)

I love collecting boxes :D From shoe boxes to aromatic candle boxes! A friend knew about this habit so she gave some to me before she left for Manila. I even have a couple of round hat boxes that I can't wait to alter in the future!

To start with the altering process, I used gesso to slightly cover the whole box and the cover. I refrained from brushing gesso on the lid of the box cover as well as around the top of the box so it can still be closed without being too tight.

So from this...

To this...

I used the DIY shop papers and On Trend flower for this project.

I measured the cover (top, the four sides and the inside of it). Same with the box itself. I used three different papers for the whole project. I opted to have the bold black and white diagonal patterned paper for the scalloped trim. After adhering the papers, I used the distress ink all over the surface, paying attention specifically on the edges of the box. Then using a distress tool, I slightly distressed some parts and inked them again to subtly cover them. I was aiming for a vintage kinda shabby chic design for this box. I "think" I achieved it somehow :)

The rolled gold rose paper flower in the middle of the On Trend paper flower is cut out from a doily. I just trimmed the edges of the doily and used the solid middle part. A lacey ribbon and tulle made a lovely combo and added a soft touch to the layers of embellishments.

Hope you liked it!
