Video Tutorial Wednesday: Anything with Glitter

Happy Wednesday!

It's Ria here and I'm so pleased to share my first video showing how to make a card using distress glitters and a combination of other embellishments and papers.

Just some of the stills for this card project.

I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder over a patterned paper from Amy Tangerine. I had fun combining the strips of paper and banner here.

And a closer look of the distress glitter in my heart shaped die cut. You can also do a free-hand cut for the heart, flowers or any other shape as you wish.

To see how I did this card, you can watch the video in Pretty Paper Studio You Tube channel or click on the image below.

So Sweet: Anything with Glitter

Hello everyone!

Ria here today, just popping in to share a quick and easy almost-a-chalkboard-type card which recently has been on trend in the card making world.

I usually end up with a black cardstock or black patterned paper so I eventually decided to try out stamping and embossing over black papers.

First up, I inked up a part of the embossing folder with Versamark ink, them run it in my die cutting machine to emboss. I then added a mixture of glitter and clear embossing powder and heat set them.

For the chipboard arrow, I added distress glitter to give them some spark and stamped some hearts over the black pattern paper. I wanted to give an illusion of a clock so I placed my arrows similar to a hand of a clock.

I love how that white ink stand out over its background. I think I'll be exploring more of this chalkboard technique in my other projects.

Here's what I came up with

There's still time to play in this month's Anything with Glitter challenge so grab your stash and use those sparkling glitz into your projects.

Anything with glitter: Photo tutorial by Donna

Hi all! Will share with you today a step by step photo tutorial on how I created my page still about this month's challenge: "Anything with glitter"
Let's start!

1. I started putting glitter on this piece of chipboard by Blue Fern.
2. Prep the surface by coloring it with a shade similar to the color of the glitter you're going to use.
3. Now, this is what I did to adhere my glitter to the chipboard. I googled lots of ways actually and this one I liked best. I liked how it turned out and it's not that messy, just be careful with the mixing part and you'll not be covered with glitters. Mix a small portion of glossy accents and glitter together. I used a thin stick (I saved from Starbucks lol!!!) to mix these two together. Now, I only started with a really small amount of both because I noticed the mixture dries up quite fast. So I just mixed a bit more until the chipboard has been fully covered. I used the same stick in putting the mixture, patting and spreading it lightly.
4. This is how it looked like after, not yet dry though.
5. Onto our base. I used a white cardstock (but if you want, you can use a sturdier base like a cardboard). Spread gesso all over the cardstock, a quick one. Don't let it dry completely.
6. I used a piece of gauze (which you can avail in a pharmacy store hehe), for added texture on my background. Used gesso to adhere the gauze.
7. Time to play with colors! Quicken drying time by using a heat tool (Use with precaution!) Some glimmer mists, color mists and inks colored my background as shown below
8. Use glossy accents again to adhere glitter
9. I used a die cut doily for the doily shapes under my photos, fuzzy cut flowers from one of the pattern patterned papers, inked the edges of the word strips, used twine and placed a couple under the Prima flowers.
10. I thought I wanted more reddish/pinkish color to some parts of my page so I gently dabbed ink using chalk edger and mini deco doily.
11. The Prima flowers I used has glitters on them already so it's perfect for this month's challenge!
 12. I really love the added texture of gauze with gesso to my page.
I hope you liked my tutorial for today! Please join our challenge, read the details below!

November Challenge: Anything with Glitter

Hi everyone!!! Today I want to share two layouts I've created for this month's  "anything with glitter" challenge. These two layouts are inspired by Tim Holtz Distress Glitter. I just love the vintage glass effect. Here are my finished layouts.

On this photo, I used Blue Fern Studios chipboard and sprinkled it with Distess Glitters.

The owl and the frame came from the Family Tradition Cameo Pack Accents.

Tutorial Monday - Colorful Layout

Hi! Asia here to share with you my first step-by-step! I'm a little bit stressed, but I hope you like it :)

1. Prepere background with stencil, stamps and black pen!

2. Wait for gesso to dry and then start build composition. Of course every piece of paper I outline the black pen.

3. Next add some details like pennants, tags, die-cuts and chipboards. I leave chipboards raw, but you can dye them eg mist or ink :)

4. Now is the time to work on the bottom of the page. Add strip of paper, tag, some lettering and more if you want!

5. Start set your title. My layout is about my favourite city - Warsaw! So the title is "fav city" :)

6. To highlight the title outline the letters with a pen and add few arrows.

7. And the page is finished! :)) Here it is:

Thanks for stopping by!

November Challenge: Anything with Glitter

Hi all! You've met two of our newest DT members and I'm sure you loved their inspiring projects already! Today, I am going to show my take on this month's challenge: "Anything with glitters".

I used the mini-collection "SISTERS" by Echo Park Paper Co., Distress Glitter by Tim Holtz and some beautiful Prima flowers.

Yep that's an accordion mini-album in the middle you're seeing! :) I wanted to make something different from what I usually do and this idea came up. I have a couple more photos of my 2 great friends and some journaling spots when you untie that Dear Lizzy pink ribbon...

I adhered one of the flowers on the ribbon using double-sided tape. And another smaller flower sticker at the back so the tape won't show.

This is how my page looks like in whole. I gently dabbed Soft Cantaloupe ink over the Mini Deco Doily by Balzer Designs (TCW). I stacked several sticker flowers on the front cover of the mini-album and some fuzzy cut ones at the left side too. I used a Martha Sterwart butterfly punch and sprinkled some Distress Glitters over them.

Canson paper
